The "Circular Design Forum" is an international conference on circular economy and ecodesign. Organised by the International Design Center Berlin in cooperation with partners from the Baltic Sea Region, the conference will take place on 14 June 2018 at the EUREF Campus in Berlin. It will be part of this year’s Open Source Circular Economy Days Berlin.
The forum aims to promote ecodesign as a holistic creative approach that moves design towards the circular economy and reduces pressure on the environment. In lectures, panel talks and workshops, experts will provide insights into sustainable design approaches, future-orientated business models, and political frameworks. The "Circular Design Forum" supports the exchange of know-how and expertise, especially aiming at initiating innovation processes in small and middle-sized companies. Furthermore, it will function as a platform for designers, design institutions and companies to network and to establish new contacts.
The "Circular Design Forum" is part of the EU project "Ecodesign as a Driver of Innovation in the Baltic Sea Region" (EcoDesign Circle), that is supported by the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Program 2014–2020. The project runs from 2016 to 2019 and aims to increase the capacity of design centres, SMEs and lecturers in the field of ecodesign. Within a period of three years, Germany, Estonia, Finland, Lithuania, Poland and Sweden will host exhibitions and workshops, offer consulting and education programs, and create competence networks.
