We look forward to welcoming you to Thessaloniki in Greece for the BEDA European Design Forum and General Assembly, two days of high-level discussion, networking, workshops, thought-leadership and inspiration. And some warm weather!
European Design Forum
Thursday 7 June 9:00 – 18:00
1. Morning session – open to BEDA members and invited experts.
Design Action Plan Workshop organised by BEDA
Many BEDA members are engaging more and more with their local, regional and national governments to bring design up the policy agenda. The European Commission’s ‘Action Plan for Design-driven Innovation’ has often been a valuable tool for partners to inspire their governments to action. However, the EU Design Action Plan is now five years out of date. One of the reasons for BEDA’s existence is to stimulate greater understanding of the benefits of design at the European level so that the effects cascade down to the member countries and regions.
The aim of the Design Action Plan Workshop is to revisit the EU Design Action Plan and understand what it has achieved and develop some new actions to advance the design agenda within the European Commission for the benefit of all members. This is your opportunity to play a part in defining the direction of the next EU Design Action Plan.
This “role up your shirt-sleeves” workshop is extremely timely because the European Commission is currently preparing its priorities for post-2020 and we have a major opportunity for design to once again feature as a priority for innovation in Europe.
2. Networking lunch
3. Afternoon session – open to BEDA members, invited experts and the broader design community. InnovationID 2018 organised by BEDA member KEPA
Having worked so hard in the morning, this is your opportunity to benefit from a stimulating afternoon of talks and panel discussions about design as an innovation tool and a driver of value for entrepreneurs, public authorities and business at large. Speakers from across Europe will share their know-how of the role design is playing in their organisations. Examples will cover user experience, future trends, the role of design in market leadership and a vision for design in the EC.
