Centres of Competence
BEDA members: join us in Brussels to share your cluster experiences.
A joint event organized by the Cluster on Design for All and the Cluster on User Design will take place in Brussels in November. BEDA members are invited to join us!
BEDA is establishing a number of European Centres of Competence (ECC), addressing the rapid change towards a knowledge society whilst also respecting the various cultural backgrounds and heritages in Europe.
Each BEDA European Centre of Competence (ECC) acts as a knowledge unit focusing on a design-specific topic that could fuel innovation and enable transformation. Potential areas of competence include Design and Sustainability, Design for All, Design and Business, Design(er’s) Statistics and Measurement, Design Education, Design Management, Design in Service Innovation, etc.
European Centres of Competence are BEDA member associations / organisations, who, through the combination of their own resources and interests and public or other funding, are able to prove that they already have, or are developing, special knowledge and competence within specific areas. These subjects will be relevant to BEDA members in the delivery of professional tasks, and will also support BEDA’s mission to act as liaison towards the EU.
The mission of a BEDA European Centre of Competence is to be an expert in/for a specific discipline, to be known for its activities in a special design field, to research and develop knowledge on this design-specific topic and to disseminate and share results through conferences, publications, etc.
