The VIENNA DESIGN WEEK has the goal of the diverse creativity in product, furniture, industrial, graphic and experimental design, to make visible and tangible. After four successful festivals already the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK in October 2011 will also come up with an exquisite and colorful program of events.
Design was and is an important area of cultural production: it shapes our material culture, our lives and our products world, it shapes our life styles and fashions and most fundamentally our aesthetic sensibilities and judgments. This far-reaching significance range is both an occasion to celebrate design and to critically deal with him. The VIENNA DESIGN WEEK has made both to the task.
