This nation-wide design competition is the highest form of recognition awarded in the field of design in Slovakia. It takes place every odd year. The competition has been organized by the Slovak Design Centre and the Slovak Ministry of Culture since 1993.

The aim of the competition is to support innovations, encourage the competitiveness of Slovak companies and designers.

The competition was open for home or foreign designers who cooperate with Slovak manufacturers, Slovak designers, design students, design studios, and clients can send entries in the competition.

The Categories include: industrial design, communication design, student design.
Prizes: the National Prize for industrial and communication design, honourable mentions, the Prize of the Minister of Education SR for a student, the Prize of the Minister of Industry SR for a manufacturer, the Prize of the Minister of Culture SR for a personality. Entries were judged by the international jury.
