Resources, lots of useful information

BEDA Tool Box

BEDA ToolBox

One of BEDA’s strengths is the wealth of knowledge and resources within its member organisations. The BEDA Toolbox is a source of inspiration, sharing templates and sample documents which you may find useful in your professional practice.

The Toolbox is divided into four different sections;

BEDA Policy Recommendations
This section contains documents, developed from BEDA board discussions, which serve as policy recommendations. They are intended to create consistency in how practitioners in the BEDA member states operate. These recommendations are available to everyone.

- Code of Conduct for Designers
- Policy on Free Pitching
- BEDA Competition Guidelines
- NACE Codes Fact Sheet

Guidelines and Templates
Documents in this section provide inspiration and serve as “checklists” when developing brief documents, planning and calculating projects, and preparing for communication between clients and suppliers of design services. The documents are designed to be equally useful for both parties, and are available to everyone.

- Agency Selection Guide
- Briefing Template
- Getting Started
- Pitch Brief
- Pitch Guide

Model contracts, agreements, and other samples are offered exclusively to members of BEDA and its member organisations. To find out more about BEDA click here

Model Contracts and Agreements
Legal arrangements between clients and suppliers of design services should always be developed to observe national legislation and industry practice. These vary from one country to the next, depending on the role that design has played historically in the country in question, how design is normally procured and the extent to which the design community has managed to obtain rights through policy development and legal practice.

The Model Contracts and Agreements in this section are provided by BEDA members from several nations, reflecting legal conditions and industry practice in their respective countries. While these contracts and agreements can serve as a framework for developing your own documents, practitioners must ensure that the final document is checked and approved by a legal counsel to fulfil legislation in your own country or in the country in which the transaction is to take place.

- Confidentiality Agreement I
- Confidentiality Agreement II
- Exclusive Licence Agency Agreement
- Exclusive Licence Individual Designer Agreement
- Model Licence Agreement
- Royalty Agreement

Other content
This section contains sample documents for organisations to adopt and modify, to avoid each practitioner having to create their own set of documents. Example documents include Offer Confirmations and Payment Reminders.

- Offer Confirmation
- Payment Reminders

We welcome additional resources, which will be edited to match the format used in the BEDA Toolbox as well as to avoid direct references to national standards and legislation, currencies and other conditions.
