Who We Are

Association Dizaino Forumas (Lithuanian Design Forum) seeks the acknowledgement of design as a catalyst for the development of modern society and a factor for sustainable economical growth, the deeper use of design in production, communication, public life and other sectors.

What We Do

Established in 2006, Lithuanian Design Forum works on representation of Lithuanian design in its’ homeland and abroad. Our main project is DESIGN WEEK LITHUANIA festival, which is the biggest design event in Lithuania and has already been held for the past 11 years. The festival takes place on the first full week of May in six different cities of Lithuania – capital Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai, Telšiai and Anykščiai. Both local and international design ideas are presented during the festival thus helping to keep up date with the latest design trends and local market insights.

In 2012 Lithuanian design prize GERAS DIZAINAS (Good Design) was initiated by Lithuanian Design Forum. By the tradition, the Award ceremony is staged during the DESIGN WEEK LITHUANIA in Vilnius. The purpose of this contest is to celebrate the most successful Lithuanian design ideas and collaborations with local businesses. The winners are selected by international jury and awarded with contest prizes or diplomas. Participation is free.

Our latest project – DESIGN LITHUANIA exhibitions cycle – is successfully travelling across the Europe and presenting various Lithuanian designers as well as our country at the most important design events. The exhibition has already been showcased in London (UK), Stockholm (Sweden), Minsk (Belarus), Brussels (Belgium), Riga (Latvia), Helsinki (Finland), Caen (France) and Paris (France).

For maintaining a strong relationship with local design market, Lithuanian Design Forum has a membership option – more than 40 designers and design companies have already joined our association and actively participated in our projects. Close communication with our members helps us to work on design policy issues and come up with wise solutions for design field in Lithuania.
