Andrew Bradley

Board member of the Design & Craft council of Ireland

Soon after qualifying as an Industrial Designer in 1984 at the National College of Art & Desgin, Dublin, Andrew realised that his interests lay in mentoring companies to realise the potential of design and set out on a career in design management. He secured a scholarship to undertake a Masters Degree in Environment Design at the Univeristy of Calgary, Canada graduating in 1989.

Andrew is an entrepreneur in the Irish design sector having successfully built his own design management and brand strategy consultancy. Today his company Bradley Brand employs 16 and specialises in working with those who have an entrepreneurial sprit to solve commercial problems and identify business opportunities using creative thinking process driven by actionable business insights.

His experience in Europe came in 1994 and 1996, when he set-up up a consortium of design promotion agencies across Europe, to secure the contract to organise the European Design Prize on behalf of The European Commission, DGXIII.

Throughout his career, Andrew has been an active member of the Institute of Designers in Ireland and was President from 2013 to 2015. In 2017, he was a Ministerial appointment to the Board of the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland. He was also Chairman of Design Skillnet, a Government of Ireland initiate initiative for enterprise-led training. Design Skillnet focuses on making designers better at enterprise and soon will seek to make enterprise better at design.
