BEDA Positioning Paper on Public Procurement – spread the word

During the meeting held in Barcelona in March 2013, BEDA’s General Assembly voted and accepted the Professional Working Group’s Proposal for a BEDA Positioning Paper on Public Procurement. To achieve maximum exposure and impact it was agreed by the GA that in addition to the paper, BEDA would draw up an Action Plan with recommendations on how to proceed with the Positioning Paper at national levels.

The Action Plan is outlined below:

Primary Ambition of the paper

To enhance national awareness in European member states of the (negative) consequences of existing Public Procurement practices for growth and prosperity of the European Design (creative) industry and their (negative) effects on the EU innovation agenda

  • Governments (central, regional and local)
  • Political Stakeholders
  • Press

  • Change

Communication Tools:

  • BEDA members’ newsletters
  • BEDA members’ websites
  • BEDA members’ social media profiles
  • Free publicity (TV Networks, newspapers, magazines, e-zines etc)
  • Meetings, conferences, symposia

Action plan for BEDA member organisations:

  1. Draw up a personal communication strategy and policy
  2. Draw up a customised introduction letter
  3. Draw up a press release
  4. Draw up a relevant press and stakeholder list
  5. Send out press releases
  6. Post messages on website and social media
  7. Arrange a dedicated meeting on the theme
